Motor Development Optimized

We designed our mats to support that in-between space: structured enough for movement, padded enough for safety. The lightly textured surface helps little hands and feet grip as they go from tummy time to crawling to pulling up.

Pediatric research shows that babies build strength, balance, and coordination when they have a surface that offers resistance without being hard or slippery. Too soft, and their muscles can’t engage properly. Too slick, and confidence is lost.

Our surface is firm but gently cushioned - designed to support gross motor development from the very first push-up through early walking, jumping, and beyond.

"It's just foam, but we thought really hard on how to make it the best foam possible"

As children grow, so does the space they need to move. That’s why every Copenhagen Kid mat is made with a modular tile system - so you can start small and add more over time. Whether it’s a play corner now or a playroom later, your mat adapts as your child (and your space) changes.

Tiles interlock securely, with no slipping or gapping - creating a stable foundation for everyday play. As your child grows, you can expand your mat by adding on sizes.

Our goal is to design for a childhood is full of play, curiosity and growth.
