We think materials matter. So does where and how something is made. For Copenhagen Kid, sustainability starts with everyday decisions: what we source, who we work with, and how long our products are meant to last.
Play Mats
Our play mats are produced in Changhua County, Taiwan, by a family-owned facility specializing in non-toxic foam since 1980. Formulation, printing, cutting, packaging, and QA/QC all happen under one roof, which keeps accountability close.
The facility is RCS-certified and ISO 14001-certified. SGS laboratories test each product to meet or exceed EN71, ASTM F963, CA65, REACH, and CNS15493.
Our play mats use safety-tested foam containing 50% recycled content, certified at the supplier level under the Recycled Claim Standard (RCS). Copenhagen Kid does not yet hold brand-level RCS chain-of-custody certification. We are pursuing it, with certification anticipated by June 1, 2026.
Until then, our 50% recycled content claim refers to supplier-level certification and tracked inputs. Documentation is available at [email protected].
Wood Furniture & Decor
Each wood product is designed and handcrafted in our family-run Los Angeles wood shop. Small-batch production means the important decisions stay human: wood selection, joinery, finishing, and final inspection.
This avoids factory production, chemical treatments, and a multi-stage supply chain. We build furniture meant to live with a family, not pass through one.
All oak furniture is made from FSC-certified oak sources. We maintain purchase documentation for each production run.
Our plywood components use Columbia Forest Products PureBond formaldehyde-free plywood with soy-based adhesive technology.
Keep Our Oceans Clean Initiative
For every order, GoodAPI helps stop 10 plastic bottles from entering the ocean through:
- Interception
- Cleanup
- Ocean-bound plastic reduction
Packaging & Documentation
All products ship in sustainable packaging made from recycled materials. Manufacturing certifications are available at [email protected]. Safety reports are on our Safety & Materials page.
